Abstract of the Disclosure The blade device of the switch of a railroad is able to be locked in mainline position and branch line position by means of a locking mechanism. The locking state is sensed by means of sensors which activate a safety relay circuit (92) vitally in terms of signaling by means of the contacts (661, 66'2). This safety relay circuit (92) is of a vital design in terms of signaling and switches by means of control relays (112 114) the signals or train stops arranged ahead of the switch directly to "switch blocked" and/or disconnects safety sectors from the feed unless both sensor establish the locking of the blade device. Due to the signaling vital driving of the signals, directly by the detection of the locking state of the switch, the driving of the switch does ot have the take place in a signalling vital manner. (Fig. 7).
