A scaffolding apparatus and the like is for use on a building during its construction. The scaffolding apparatus comprises a plurality of fixing bracket members each being adapted to be fixed to a corresponding one of a plurality of studs or the like of the building undergoing construction such that they extend substantially horizontally from the stud. The fixing bracket members each have a bracket which is adapted to be fixed to the stud whereby each of the brackets has a pair of angle flanges aligned above and below respectively of the longitudinal axis of the fixing bracket member. The lower flange is adapted to be fixed abutting against the outwardly facing side of the stud and the upper angle flange is adapted to be fixed abutting against the inwardly facing side of the stud. The plurality of fixing bracket members are arranged, when installed, to receive planks or the like on top to provide a platform.
