The invention disclosed relates to a method and apparatus for generating electrical power using animal body heat as the sole energy source. The apparatus includes a plurality of thermocouples connected in series and means for maintaining a temperature differential between the hot and cold junctions of the thermocouples, whereby body heat energy received by the hot junction is converted to electrical power. The apparatus can be used to replace or supplement the electrical power provided by a low-voltage battery to drive a microelectronic device.

L'invention porte sur une méthode et un appareil de production d'énergie électrique dont la chaleur corporelle constitue l'unique source d'énergie. L'appareil comporte une série de thermocouples connectés en série et des éléments permettant de maintenir une différence de température entre les soudures chaudes et froides des thermocouples. La soudure chaude reçoit l'énergie de la chaleur corporelle et convertit cette dernière en énergie électrique. L'appareil peut servir à remplacer ou à compléter l'énergie électrique fournie par un accumulateur à basse tension afin d'entraîner un dispositif micro-électronique.
