The invention concerns a method for monitoring a process during die casting or thixotropic moulding of metals (14, 15) in a die casting or thixotropic moulding device. The time curve of the moulding pressure p(t) and the speed v(t), a time-based, of the casting piston (12) are determined. On the basis of the time-based curve of the moulding pressure p(t) and speed v(t) of the casting piston, the energy E(t) supplied by the casting piston (12), based on the time of the process (t), and the total energy Etot supplied by the casting piston (12) during the die casting process or the thixotropic moulding are calculated, the total energy Etot being used as parameter for monitoring the die casting or thixotropic moulding process. The invention also concerns a die casting or thixotropic moulding device, used in particular for die casting or thixotropic moulding of aluminium alloys. Said die casting or thixotropic moulding device has either measuring elements (30, 32) used for simultaneously determining moulding pressure p(t) as a time function of the process and the position s(t), as a time function of the process, of the casting piston (12), or measuring elements (30, 32) for simultaneously determining the moulding pressure p(t) as a time function of the process and the speed v(t) as a time function of the process, of the casting piston (12).

L'invention concerne un procédé de surveillance de processus lors de la coulée sous pression ou du thiomoulage de métaux (14, 15) dans un dispositif de coulée sous pression ou de thiomoulage.
