A method of distributing documents, via a communications network, to a plurality of receiving stations associated with a plurality of users. At least one document layout is pointcast to each receiving station, the document layout being associated with a predetermined user and defining one or more data objects such as text, images and graphics. Collections of shared data objects are then multicast, via the communications network, to the receiving stations on the basis of the respective users' document layouts. Each collection is only transmitted to those receiving stations whose users' document layouts include data objects in that collection.

L'invention concerne un procédé de distribution de documents, par un réseau de communication, à plusieurs stations réceptrices associées à plusieurs utilisateurs. Au moins une présentation de document est envoyée par diffusion à destination unique à chaque station réceptrice, la présentation du document étant associée à un utilisateur prédéterminé et définissant un ou plusieurs objets de données, tels que le texte, les images et les motifs graphiques. Des collections d'objets de données partagés sont ensuite envoyés par multidiffusion, par le réseau de communications, aux stations réceptrices, en fonction des présentations des documents des utilisateurs respectifs.
