An active vehicle suspension employs a multi-point support system between a vehicle's chassis and cab. Each support point has an isolator which includes a linear hydraulic actuator (52) that is connected at its quiet end to the payload by a passive vibration isolator (62) and is connected at its vibrating end to the chassis. Each isolator also has a support spring (68) to off-load the majority of the weight of the cab from the hydraulic actuator. An accelerometer (78) is mounted to sense movement at a point between the linear hydraulic actuator and the passive vibration isolator. An electrical signal produced by the accelerometer is processed to operate a hydraulic valve (26) that controls movements of the hydraulic actuator so that transmission of vibrations from the chassis to the cab is attenuated.

L'invention porte sur une suspension active pour véhicule qui utilise un dispositif de support multipoint situé entre le châssis et la cabine d'un véhicule. Chaque point de support a un isolant qui contient un vérin hydraulique linéaire (52). Ce vérin hydraulique linéaire est relié, à son extrémité silencieuse, à la charge utile par un isolant (62) de vibrations passif, et, à son extrémité vibrante, au châssis. Chaque isolant a un ressort (68) de soutien servant à décharger le vérin hydraulique de la plus grande partie du poids de la cabine. Un accéléromètre (78) est disposé à un point situé entre le vérin hydraulique linéaire et l'isolant de vibrations passif afin de détecter tout déplacement. Un signal électrique produit par l'accéléromètre est transformé afin de mettre en fonctionnement une soupape hydraulique (26) qui commande les déplacements du vérin hydraulique de façon que les vibrations transmises du châssis à la cabine soient atténuées.
