The present invention relates to biosynthesis .beta.-lactam antibiotics. More specifically, the invention relates to processes of producing .beta.-lactam antibiotics in vivo and in vitro. Also contemplated is a novel enzyme capable of catalyzing certain steps involved in the .beta.-lactam biosynthesis. Further, the invention relates to a DNA construct encoding said novel enzyme, a recombinant vector or transformation vehicle comprising said DNA construct, and finally a cell comprising said DNA construct or recombinant vector.
L'invention concerne la biosynthèse d'antibiotiques à base de .beta.-lactames et notamment des procédés de production in vivo et in vitro de ceux-ci, ainsi qu'une nouvelle enzyme pouvant catalyser certaines phases de la biosynthèse des .beta.-lactames. En outre, l'invention concerne également un assemblage d'ADN codant cette nouvelle enzyme, un vecteur recombiné ou véhicule de transformation comprenant ledit assemblage d'ADN, et enfin une cellule comprenant cet assemblage d'ADN ou ce vecteur recombiné.
