ABSTRACT A portfolio having a detachable wallet is described. The wallet can contain an electronic calculating device or a radio. The wallet is mounted within the portfolio so that the wallet may be opened to a position outside the perimeter of the portfolio, or the wallet may be removed from the portfolio and used separately. The portfolio contains a pocket adapted to receive the front flap of the wallet so that the wallet can be contained within the portfolio. In order to secure the wallet within the portfolio, the wallet contains a pair of closure members, one of which is adapted to mate with a closure member located on the inside of the portfolio. When the wallet member is detached from the portfolio, the pair of closure members contained on the wallet member mate with each other to secure the wallet member in a closed position detached from the portfolio. Thus, the wallet member is conveniently used and stored with or apart from the portfolio.
