Photo-initiator blends suitable for radiation curable ink formulations are disclosed which comprise a mixture of three or more photo-initiators, the mixture being a liquid at a temperature at or below ambient; the mixture comprising: (a) a first photo-initiator comprising an optionally substituted hydroxyC1-10 alkylC6-18aryl ketone which is liquid at ambient temperature; (b) a second photo-initiator comprising an optionally substituted hydroxy(cycloC3- 10alkyl)C6-18aryl ketone which is solid at ambient temperature; and (c) one or more of the following photo-initiators each of which may be optionally substituted:an alpha aminoacetophenone, a C6-18aryl(((C1-10 alkyl)1-4C6- 18arylcarbonyl))1-3 phosphine oxide, a benzophenone; a benzophenone derivative and/or a hydrocarbo (optionally alkyl or aryl) amino benzoate; where, (i) the first photo-initiator (a) and the second photo-initiator (b) are present in the mixture in a weight ratio of from about 0.8 to about 1.2, (ii) the first photo-initiator (a) and the second photo-initiator (b) together comprise from about 15 to about 85 percent by weight of the total mixture.
L'invention porte sur des mélanges de photo-amorceurs pour encres durcissant sous l'effet du rayonnement, comportant trois constituants ou plus, et liquides à la température ambiante ou au-dessus. Lesdits mélanges comprennent: (a) un premier photo-amorceur consistant en un hydroxyC1-10 alkylC6-18aryl cétone facultativement substitué, liquide à la température ambiante; (b) un second photo-amorceur consistant en un hydroxy(cycloC3-10alkyl)C6-18aryl cétone facultativement substitué solide à la température ambiante; et (c) un ou plusieurs des photo-amorceurs suivants pouvant tous être facultativement substitués: un alpha aminoacetophénone, un oxyde de C6-18aryl(((C1-10 alkyl)1-4C6-18arylcarbonyl))1-3 phosphine, un benzophénone; un dérivé de benzophénone, et/ou un hydrocarbo (facultativement alkyle ou aryle) amino benzoate; (i) le premier photo-amorceur (a) et le second photo-amorceur (b) étant présents dans le mélange dans un rapport pondéral d'environ 0,8 à environ 1,2, et (ii) le premier photo-amorceur (a) et le second photo-amorceur (b) formant ensemble entre environ 15 et environ 85 % en poids de la totalité du mélange.
