A process for the production of fluoromethylhewafluoroisopropylether which involves contacting bis (fluoromethyl) ether with hexafluoroisopropyl alcohol in which the molar ratio of the ether to the alcohol isin excess of 2:1 so the ether and alcohol react to produce fluoromethylhexafluoroisopropyl ether and recovering the ether. The process is suitable carried out in acidic conditions.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de production d'éther de fluorométhylhexafluoroisopropyle qui consiste 1) à mettre en contact de l'éther de bis (fluorométhyle) avec un alcool d'hexafluoroisopropyle de sorte que le rapport molaire entre l'éther et l'alcool soit supérieur à 2:1 pour que l'éther et l'alcool réagissent et produisent de l'éther de fluorométhylhexafluoroisopropyle et 2) à récupérer l'éther. Ce procédé est effectué de manière appropriée dans des conditions acides.
