A process for preparing nonwoven webs comprising multiple component continuous filaments having high levels of three-dimensional helical crimp utilizing draw rolls to provide a high degree of orientation to each of the polymeric components by mechanically drawing the filaments under conditions wherein the polymeric components remain substantially amorphous and a stretchable nonwoven web comprising multiple component, continuous filaments having high levels of three-dimensional helical crimp.

L'invention concerne un procédé d'élaboration de voiles non tissés, constitués de filaments continus à composants multiples, qui présentent des degrés élevés de frisure hélicoïdale. On utilise des cylindres d'étirage qui donnent un degré d'orientation important à chacun des composants polymères, par étirage mécanique des filaments dans des conditions telles que les composants polymères restent sensiblement amorphes. L'invention concerne par ailleurs un voile non tissé étirable, constitué de filaments continus à composants multiples, qui présente des degrés élevés de frisure hélicoïdale tridimensionnelle.
