It is intended to provide a gene and a protein participating in central nerve diseases and a method of efficiently evaluating an activity controller for the protein. A DNA comprising the base sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1; a potential-dependent cation channel protein encoded by the DNA; an antisense nucleic acid against the DNA sequence; a method of searching for a substance controlling the channel function of the above protein with the use of the protein; and antibodies specific to the antisense nucleic acid to the DNA and the protein.
