ABSTRACT Certain water insoluble basic salts and, more particularly, alkaline earth metal hydroxides are introduced to the papermaking furnish for a decor sheet. The decor sheet which is coloured by a sulphur dye and contains the water insoluble basic salts exhibits good postformability. The water insoluble basic salts prevent the sulphur dyes from catalyzing curing of the resin and thus yields a decor sheet with good postformability. A combination of water soluble salts is added to the furnish which interacts by ion exchange to precipitate a water insoluble basic salt in the furnish. For example, an alkaline earth metal salt such as magnesium sulphate is reacted with sodium hydroxide to precipitate magnesium hydroxide in the furnish.
