An abrasive cutting blade is provided to achieve high-quality surface finishes at high feed rates. The blade is fabricated by electroplating fine abrasive onto a steel cathode disc to form a first layer, followed by electroplating a second layer of coarser abrasive onto the first layer. A third layer of fine abrasive is then electroplated onto the second layer. The resulting composite is then removed from the cathode disc to form a multi-grit, multi-layer, hub- less blade.

L'invention concerne une lame de coupe abrasive permettant d'obtenir une finition de surface de haute qualité à une haute vitesse d'alimentation. Cette lame est obtenue par électrodéposition d'un abrasif fin sur un disque cathode en acier, ledit abrasif formant une première couche, et par électrodéposition d'une seconde couche d'un abrasif plus grossier sur la première couche. Une troisième couche d'abrasif fin est ensuite déposée par électrodéposition sur la seconde couche. Le composite obtenu est ensuite retiré du disque cathode pour former une lame multi-grain, multicouche sans moyeu.
