A system for detecting the direction of an occurrence of an event from a known point or the location of an event comprising at least two of: a sensor comprising: a microprocessor; a wireless network; an element sensitive to evidence of the event communicating with the microprocessor; and a first Ultra-Wideband Radio module; wherein: the element sensitive to evidence of the event is in communication with the microprocessor allowing the microprocessor to function to detect the event; the first Ultra-Wideband Radio module functions to determine the location of the sensor; the wireless network system allows for the interfacing and sharing of data between the sensor and other components of the system for detecting events; and the system for detecting events functions to multi-laterate the location and time of the event. The use of ultra-wide band radio modules allows for very precise location of events and enhanced communications as compared to conventional systems. It also allows for the correction of GPS locationing and for use inside of structures and other venues where GPS is not effective.

L'invention concerne un système permettant de détecter la direction d'une occurrence d'un évènement à partir d'un point connu ou la localisation d'un évènement comprenant au moins deux éléments parmi: un capteur comprenant: un microprocesseur; un réseau sans fil; un élément sensible à la preuve de l'évènement communiquant avec le microprocesseur; et un premier module d'ultra large bande. L'élément sensible à la preuve de l'évènement est en communication avec le microprocesseur permettant au microprocesseur de fonctionner pour détecter l'évènement; le premier module d'ultra large bande fonctionne pour déterminer l'emplacement du capteur; le système de réseau sans fil permet l'interfaçage et le partage de données entre le capteur et d'autres composants du système pour détecter des évènements; et le système permettant de détecter des évènements fonctionne pour multilatérer l'emplacement et le moment de l'évènement. L'utilisation de module d'ultra large bande permet une localisation très précise d'évènements et de meilleures communications en comparaison à des systèmes classiques. Elle permet également la correction de localisation GPS et l'utilisation à l'intérieur de structures et d'autres lieux où le GPS n'est pas efficace.
