The invention provides an organ positioning device and method that employs suction to hold organ tissue to the device. The device allows the organ, for example, heart to be positioned in a desired orientation but otherwise allowing movement of the heart as the heart beats. The device is designed to be relatively atraumatic to heart tissue. Generally, the device comprises a resiliently flexible suction head having a plurality of legs that flex to conform to the surface of the heart. The suction head has vacuum passageways in fluid communication with the legs to apply suction between the legs and the surface of the heart.
L'invention concerne un appareil de placement d'organe et un procédé utilisant l'aspiration afin de maintenir les tissus de l'organe à l'appareil. L'appareil permet à l'organe, par exemple, le coeur d'être placé dans l'orientation souhaitée mais en permettant cependant le mouvement du coeur alors que le coeur bat. Cet appareil est conçu de manière à ne causer presque aucun traumatisme aux tissus du coeur. En général, l'appareil est doté d'une tête d'aspiration souple de manière résiliente possédant plusieurs jambes qui se plient afin d'épouser la surface du coeur. La tête d'aspiration présente des passage de vide en communication fluide avec les jambes afin d'appliquer une aspiration entre les jambes et la surface du coeur.
