A retrievable whipstock which can be hydraulically set within a wellbore and following the drilling procedure mechanically released and retrieved for future use. The whipstock includes a whip which directs a milling tool from the main well and a hydraulically actuated packer or anchor for setting the whipstock in the wellbore. The whip includes ratchet teeth on its side edges for mating engagement with a retrieval tool. The retrieval tool includes a nose piece to ensure proper orientation relative to the whipstock and a clamping ring with ratchet teeth to engage the teeth of the whip. The whipstock is released through the application of tension through the retrieval tool allowing removal from the wellbore.
Un sifflet déviateur qui peut être placé par des moyens hydrauliques à l'intérieur d'un forage, et, selon la technique de forage, relâché mécaniquement et récupéré en vue de sa réutilisation. Le sifflet déviateur comprend un fouet qui dirige une fraise de meulage depuis le puits principal, et un packer ou ancre pour la mise en place du sifflet déviateur dans le forage. Le fouet est muni de dents de rochet sur les côtés, permettant son accouplement à un outil de récupération. L'outil de récupération comporte une protubérance qui lui assure une bonne orientation par rapport au sifflet déviateur, et un collier de serrage muni de dents de rochet pour l'engagement des dents du fouet. Le sifflet déviateur se dégage par suite à l'application d'une tension au moyen de l'outil de récupération, permettant ainsi son retrait du forage.
