A resultant device and a method for making a frame structure for use as a poled optical device (10) includes providing a glass preform (30) having a poling area (12) and a waveguiding core area (16). At least one feedstock (24) is assembled into the waveguiding core area (16). The at least one feedstock (24) is separated from the poling area (12). The glass preform (30) and the at least one feedstock (24) are heated (36) and drawn into a smaller diameter (13) to form an optical waveguide.

L'invention concerne un dispositif et un procédé de fabrication d'une structure de trame destinée à être utilisée comme dispositif optique polarisé (10). Ce procédé consiste à utiliser une préforme en verre (30) comportant une zone de polarisation (12) et une zone centrale de confinement optique (16). On assemble au moins une charge d'alimentation (24) dans la zone centrale de confinement optique (16). La charge d'alimentation (24) se trouve séparée de la zone de polarisation (12). On chauffe (36) la préforme en verre (30) et la charge d'alimentation (24), puis on réduit leur diamètre (13) afin de former un guide d'onde optique.
