The present invention is directed to methods for increasing or decreasing the phosphorylation of histone H3 using factors that alter the activity of the kinase haspin. The invention includes assays for identifying inhibitors, peptides that can serve as inhibitors or in the generation of antibodies that specifically recognize phosphorylated histone, polynucleotides encoding peptides, procedures for increasing intracellular haspin levels, and methods for assaying haspin activity in a biological sample to determine whether abnormalities in cell division may be due to the overexpression or underexpression of haspin.
L'invention concerne des procédés pour améliorer ou diminuer la phosphorylation de l'histone H3 au moyen de facteurs qui modifient l'activité de la kinase haspine. L'invention concerne des essais biologiques permettant d'identifier des inhibiteurs, des peptides qui peuvent servir en tant qu'inhibiteurs ou dans la production d'anticorps qui reconnaissent de manière spécifique un histone phosphorylé, des polynucléotides codant des peptides, des procédures permettant d'améliorer les taux de l'haspine intracellulaire, et des procédés pour tester l'activité de l'haspine dans un échantillon biologique ou de déterminer si des anomalies dans la division cellulaire peuvent être provoquées par une surexpression ou une sous-expression de l'haspine.
