- 46 - Abstract of the Disclosure There is provided a portable magnifying reading apparatus. A case has an openable cover. A video camera can be contained in the case. A video image obtained from the video camera is magnified and displayed on a color liquid crystal display device pro- vided within the case. Since the reading apparatus is portable, it has a battery container portion. The apparatus also has an external connection terminal through which an external video signal is input and displayed.
