Abstract of the Disclosure A method for the production of silver nitrate solution without substantial generation of oxides of nitrogen comprises reacting metallic silver with nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide at between 20 and 30% excess hydrogen peroxide over the stoichiometric requirement.
