Remineralizing dental cements contain source(s) of calcium and phosphate ions, adhesive resin monomers, reinforcing base resin monomers, and catalysts able to initiate the polymerization of the adhesive and reinforcing base resin monomers. Such dental cements can be used as orthodontic cements, crown and bridge cements, adhesives, sealants, cavity liners, and protective coatings. The release of calcium and phosphate ions and, optionally, fluoride ions, protects tooth structure from demineralization, a precursor of tooth decay.

L'invention concerne des ciments dentaires de reminéralisation, qui contiennent une (des) source(s) d'ions de calcium et de phosphate, des monomères d'une résine adhésive, des monomères d'une résine de base de renfort, et des catalyseurs pouvant amorcer la polymérisation des monomères de la résine adhésive et de la résine de base de renfort. Les ciments dentaires de l'invention peuvent être utilisés comme ciments orthodontiques, ciments pour couronnes et ponts, adhésifs, résines de scellement, vernis protecteurs et revêtements de protection. La libération des ions de calcium et de phosphate et, facultativement, des ions fluorure, protège la structure dentaire de la déminéralisation, un précurseur de la carie dentaire.
