There is disclosed a process for preparing polytrimethylene ether glycol by acid catalyzed polycondensation, neutralization and contact with filter aid. The process avoids hydrolysis and yet provides product substantially free of catalyst derived end groups.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de préparer du polytriméthylène éther glycol par polycondensation catalysée par l'acide, neutralisation et contact à l'aide d'un filtre. Le procédé, qui permet d'éviter l'hydrolyse, fournit cependant un produit sensiblement exempt de groupes terminaux dérivés de catalyseurs.
