An analyte concentration monitoring system having network-based communication features (600) which provide a link between an analyte detection system (602) and a centralized computer (604). The analyte detection system has a processor (610) that calculates analyte concentration in accordance with software (612) executable by the processor. Under certain conditions, the software (612) needs to be updated. Accordingly, when the analyte detection system is connected to the centralized computer, the centralized computer determines whether a software update (614) is needed. If a software update is needed, then the centralized computer conveniently provides the software update to the analyte detection system without intervention from a user.
L'invention concerne un système de surveillance de concentration d'analyte présentant des caractéristiques de communication (600) fondées sur un réseau. Ce système fournit un lien entre un système de détection d'analyte (602) et un ordinateur centralisé (604). Le système de détection d'analyte comporte un processeur (610) qui calcule la concentration d'analyte en fonction d'un logiciel (612) exécutable par le processeur. Dans certaines conditions, il est nécessaire de mettre le logiciel (612) à jour. Par conséquent, lorsque le système de détection d'analyte est relié à l'ordinateur centralisé, l'ordinateur centralisé détermine si une mise à jour de logiciel (614) est nécessaire. Si une mise à jour du logiciel est nécessaire, l'ordinateur centralisé fournit de manière pratique la mise à jour du logiciel au système de détection d'analyte sans qu'il soit nécessaire d'avoir recours à l'intervention d'un utilisateur.
