The invention concerns the use of a 5-HT¿4? receptor ligand or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt of said ligand and of a nucleic acid encoding a functional 5-HT¿4? receptor or a functionally equivalent receptor for preparing a medicine for treating and/or preventing a pathology related to an obsessive behaviour such as anorexia, bulimia and abuse drug addiction or obesity. The invention also concerns a method for identifying a compound biologically active in the treatment and/or prevention of a pathology related to an obsessive behaviour or obesity characterized in that it comprises the following steps: (a) contacting the 5-HT¿4? receptor or a functionally equivalent receptor with said biologically active compound, and (b) determining whether said biologically active compound is capable of modulating the basal activity of the 5-HT¿4? receptor or of a functionally equivalent receptor.
La présente invention concerne, d~une part, l~utilisation d~un ligand du récepteur 5-HT4 ou d~un sel pharmaceutiquement acceptable de ce ligand et, d~autre part, d~un acide nucléique codant un récepteur 5-HT4 fonctionnel ou un récepteur fonctionnellement équivalent pour la préparation d~un médicament destiné à traiter et/ou à prévenir une pathologie liée à une conduite obsessionnelle telle que l~anorexie, la boulimie et l~addiction aux drogues d~abus ou l~obésité. La présente invention concerne également une méthode pour identifier un composé biologiquement actif dans le traittement et/ou la prévention d~une pathologie liée à une conduite obsessionnelle ou de l~obésité caractérisée en ce qu~elle comprend les étapes suivvantes : (a) la mise en contact du récepteur 5-HT4 ou d~un récepteur fonctionnellement équivalent avec ledit composé biologiguement actif, et (b) la détermination se ledit composé biologiquement actif est capable de moduler l~activité basale du récepteur 5- HT4 ou d~un récepteur fonctionnellement équivalent.
