The disclosure describes herein a box within which is mounted a reel having a supply of wire, cable or the like to be dispensed. An opening is provided in one of the walls of the box to allow the egress of one end of the strand. A cover securely contains the reel within the box. Also mounted within the box is a brake device which has a portion slidingly contacted by the strand prior to egressing from the box. An external pull on the strand frees interengageable elements on the brake device and on one of the side plates of the reel from blocking rotation of the reel in one direction. As soon as a pull is no longer exerted on the strand, a resilient element on the brake device urges the elements to interengage to thereby stop rotation of the reel.
La présente invention a pour objet une boîte à l'intérieur de laquelle est montée une bobine sur laquelle est enroulé du fil, un câble ou un élément similaire à distribuer. Une ouverture est ménagée dans une des parois de la boîte afin de permettre le passage d'un bout du brin. Un couvercle permet de garder la bobine à l'intérieur de la boîte. Est également monté à l'intérieur de la boîte un dispositif de freinage dont une partie coulissante est en contact avec le brin avant que celui sorte de la boîte. Une traction sur le brin, de l'extérieur de la boîte, a pour effet de libérer des éléments interreliés du dispositif de freinage et de l'une des plaques latérales de la bobine, ce qui permet la rotation de la bobine dans un sens. Dès qu'aucune traction n'est exercée sur le brin, un élément souple du dispositif de freinage provoque l'accrochage des éléments interreliés pour arrêter la rotation de la bobine.
