The blood pump proposed has a motor housing (20) and a pump housing (32) which are rigidly connected to each other, spaced a certain distance apart. Both housings (20, 32) have essentially the same diameter of only about 6 mm, thus enabling the blood pump to be introduced, using a catheter (14), to its point of use through the body's blood-vessel system. A shaft (25) extends from the electric motor (21) to the impeller (34). the shaft is mounted at the rear end in a bearing (27) and at the extreme front end in a bearing (33) which is also designed as a seal.

L'invention concerne une pompe à sang comportant un boîtier de moteur (20) et un carter de pompe (32), solidarisés à une certaine distance l'un de l'autre. Le boîtier et le carter (20, 32) présentent un diamètre sensiblement identique d'approximativement 6 mm seulement, de manière que la pompe à sang puisse être placée en son point d'utilisation, en passant à l'aide d'un cathéter (14) à travers le système vasculaire.
