A method for treating skin disorders in warm-blooded animals, said method comprising administering to said warm-blooded animals an effective amount of an appropriately substituted benzimidazole or benzotriazole which suppressss the metabolism of retinoids. Compositions comprising said compounds and an effective amount of a retinoid. Particular compounds for use in the present invention are compounds of the formula: (see fig. I) and/or (see fig. II)

Compositions renfermant lesdits dérivés ainsi qu'une quantité efficace d'un rétinoïde. Des composés particuliers utiles dans la présente invention sont ceux de formule (voir fig. I) et (ou) (voir fig. II).
