Abstract The invention relates to a clay pigeon trap which com- prising an incrementally rotatable magazine which in- cludes a plurality of compartments of which each is intended to accommodate a plurality of loosely stacked pigeons, a frame located beneath the magazine and com- prising a first horizontal plate, a second plate spaced vertically from the first plate, a spring-activated throwing arm rotatably mounted between the first and second plates, the throwing arm receiving in one posi- tion clay pigeons from the bottom of the stack in the magazine, means for spring-biassing the throwing arm to a clay pigeon receiving position, and means for releas- ing the throwing arm and therewith throw a clay pigeon from the trap. The trap also includes a mechanism which during the spring-biassing movement of the throwing arm functions to cause the magazine to effect a feeding movement in a direction opposite to the direction of movement of the throwing arm such as to selectively release a clay pigeon from a magazine compartment or to release a clay pigeon from each of two mutually adjacent magazine compartments. The throwing arm includes guide surfaces which are located in mutually different vertical planes and each of which functions to guide an individual clay pigeon as the throwing arm is released.
