ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The invention is a tubing tester adapted to be coupled between a string of tubing and a well bore packer. An outer sleeve is coupled at one end to a string of tubing. A cylindrical mandrel is slidably and rotatably positioned in the other end of the outer sleeve. Advancing or retracting movement of the mandrel is affor- ded by rotating the sleeve so that lugs on the sleeve engage grooves in the periphery of the mandrel to move the mandrel axially with respect to the outer sleeve. An inner sleeve is locked in position within the outer sleeve and has a spring loaded flapper valve at an end facing the mandrel. Advancing movement of the mandrel forces a curved end thereof against the flapper valve to urge the flapper valve to a fully open position to extend into a cut out wall portion in the inner sleeve.
