The present invention involves a magnetic detachable embolization apparatus and method for embolizing an aneurysm of a blood vessel. The apparatus includes an element adapted to be detachably connected to a distal portion of a catheter for insertion within an aneurysm of a blood vessel, the element being shaped to be retained within the aneurysm, and one or more magnets carried by the element to internally induce a magnetic field from within the aneurysm to control a magnetic field controllable embolic to embolize the aneurysm. The method includes providing a magnetic-field controllable embolic within or adjacent to an aneurysm in a blood vessel, and internally inducing a magnetic field from within the aneurysm to control the magnetic-field controllable embolic to embolize the aneurysm.
L'invention concerne un appareil d'embolisation amovible magnétique et un procédé permettant d'effectuer une embolisation d'un anévrisme d'un vaisseau sanguin. L'appareil comprend un élément conçu pour être relié amovible à une partie distale d'un cathéter, aux fins d'introduction dans un anévrisme d'un vaisseau sanguin, l'élément présentant une forme lui permettant d'être retenu dans l'anévrisme, et un ou plusieurs aimants portés par l'élément permettant d'induire de façon interne un champ magnétique à partir de l'intérieur de l'anévrisme, en vue de commander une substance d'embolisation à commande de champ magnétique, de manière à effectuer une embolisation de l'anévrisme. La méthode consiste à déposer une substance d'embolisation à commande de champ magnétique à l'intérieur d'un anévrisme, ou de manière adjacente à celui-ci, dans un vaisseau sanguin et à introduire de façon interne un champ magnétique à partir de l'intérieur de l'anévrisme, de manière à commander une substance d'embolisation à commande de champ magnétique, aux fins d'embolisation de l'anévrisme.
