The invention relates to a method for producing enantiomer-free alcohols of formula (I) (Ia or Ib), in which the substituents represent the following; R1 represents hydrogen or a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C6-alkyl-, C1-C6- alkoxy-, or C1-C6-alkanoyl-; R2 and R3 independently of each other represent hydrogen or a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C6-alkyl-, C1-C6-alkoxy-, or C1- C6-alkanoyl-, C1-C6-alkylthio-, C1-C6-alkyl sulfinyl- or C1-C6-alkyl sulfonyl- ; and R4 is a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C6-alkyl-, C3-C6-cycloalkyl-. Said method is characterized in that compounds of formula (II), in which the substituents R1 to R4 have the meaning given above, are reduced to compounds of formula (I) in an aqueous solution, in the presence of a carbon source and a microorganism or a reducing agent and an enzyme.

L'invention concerne un procédé de production d'alcools exempts d'énantionères, de la formule (I) (Ia ou Ib), où les substituants représentent les éléments suivants; R?1¿ représente hydrogène ou un C¿1?-C¿6?-alkyle-, C¿1?-C¿6?-alkoxy- ou C¿1?-C¿6?-alkanoyle- substitué ou non substitué; R?2¿ et R?3¿ représentent, indépendamment l'un de l'autre, hydrogène ou un C¿1?-C¿6?-alkyle-, C¿1?-C¿6?-alkoxy-, ou C¿1?-C¿6?-alkanoyle-, C¿1?-C¿6?-alkylthio-, C¿1?-C¿6?-alkyle sulfinyle- ou C¿1?-C¿6?-alkyle sufonyle- substitué ou non substitué; et R?4¿ est un C¿1?-C¿6?-alkyle- ou C¿3?-C¿6?-cycloakyle substitué ou non substitué. Cette méthode se caractérise en ce que les composés de la formule (II), où les substituants R?1¿ à R?4¿ ont la même signification que ci-dessus, sont réduits à des composés de la formule (I) dans une solution aqueuse, en présence d'une source de carbone, d'un microorganisme ou d'un agent réducteur, et d'une enzyme.
