The present invention provides a novel human interferon-inducible protein (HIFI) and the polynucleotides which identify and encode HIFI. The invention provides for genetically engineered expression vectors and host cells comprising the nucleic acid sequence encoding HIFI and for a method for producing the protein. The invention also provides pharmaceutical compositions containing HIFI and the use of such compositions for the prevention or treatment of diseases associated with the expression of HIFI. Additionally, the invention provides antisense molecules to HIFI and their use in the treatment of diseases associated with the expression of HIFI. The invention also provides diagnostic assays which utilize polynucleotides which hybridize with naturally occurring sequences encoding HIFI and antibodies which specifically bind to the protein.
La présente invention se rapporte à une nouvelle protéine humaine inductible par interféron (HIFI) ainsi qu'aux polynucléotides qui identifient et codent la protéine HIFI. L'invention se rapporte à des vecteurs d'expression et à des cellules hôtes, issus du génie génétique, qui comportent la séquence codant la protéine HIFI ainsi qu'à un procédé de production de ladite protéine. L'invention se rapporte à des compositions pharmaceutiques contenant la protéine HIFI ainsi qu'à l'utilisation de telles compositions pour la prévention ou le traitement de maladies associées à l'expression de la protéine HIFI. En outre, l'invention a trait à des molécules antisens dirigées contre la protéine HIFI ainsi qu'à leur utilisation s'agissant du traitement de maladies liées à l'expression de ladite protéine HIFI. Enfin, l'invention se rapporte à des analyses diagnostiques qui font usage de polynucléotides qui s'hybrident avec des séquences d'origine naturelle codant la protéine HIFI et à des anticorps qui se lient de manière spécifique à ladite protéine.
