The present invention relates to coating compositions comprising (A) at least one component which contains hydroxyl groups, consisting of (A1) from 20 to 60% by weight of at least one polyester and (A2) from 40 to 80% by weight of at least one polyacrylate resin which contains hydroxyl groups and has been prepared, at least partially, in the presence of component (A1), and (B) at least one crosslinking agent, characterized in that the polyester (A1) has an OH number of from 90 to 130 mg of KOH/g, an acid number of less than 10 mg of KOH/g, a number-average molecular weight of from 1300 to 3500 and a polydispersity of from 5 to 50, the polyacrylate resin (A2) contains as monomer com- ponent 4-hydroxy-n-butyl (meth)acrylate and/or 3-hydroxy-n-butyl (meth)acrylate and/or hydroxyethyl methacrylate, which are incorporated by polymeriza- tion, and has a hydroxyl number of from 50 to 150 and an acid number of from 0 to 10, and from 0.1 to 1% by weight, based on the weight of com- ponent (A) without solvent, of an aromatic carboxylic acid or of an anhydride is added to component (A) after its preparation or to the coating composition.
