The virtual printed materials comprise one or more pages that are rendered in electronic format to resemble corresponding printed pages, for example, from a store catalogue, telephone directory, brochure, newspaper, etc. According to an aspect of the invention, the pages include one or more controls to enable a user to interact or navigate the pages and/or the catalogue. The controls include an index function, a search function, a favourites function, and an email function.
