Nickel-copper catalysts supported on an acidic carrier, preferably containing a binder, are used to hydroisomerize paraffins, particularly Fischer-Tropsch paraffins, boiling at 350 °F+ into lighter, more valuable products. The hydroisomerization process involves introducing the paraffin-containing feed (39) into a fractionator (40) where it is separated into a 350 °F- lighter fraction and a 350 °F+ heavier fraction. The lighter fraction is hydrotreated in hydrotreater (44) and the heavier fraction is hydroisomerized using the nickel-copper catalysts in reactor (54), whereafter the effluents from hydrotreater (44) and reactor (54) are combined to produce a product stream.

Le procédé d'hydro-isomérisation consiste à introduire la charge contenant la paraffine (39) dans une colonne de fractionnement (40), où elle est séparée en une fraction légère 350 DEG F- et une fraction lourde 350 DEG F+. La fraction légère est hydrotraitée dans un appareil d'hydrotraitement (44) et la fraction lourde est hydroisomérisée au moyen de catalyseurs nickel-cuivre dans un réacteur (54), après quoi les effluents en provenance de l'appareil d'hydrotraitement (44) et du réacteur (54) sont combinés pour produire un flux de produit.
