The water train is a water craft consisting of several wide-bottom boats that are connected together to form a train that operates freely on a body of water. The lead boat pulls all of the "cars" in the water train. This aquatic locomotive pulls the train along with power generated by an internal combustion engine or an electric motor, and/or two oars and/or wind power. Each train car can carry one or several passengers; all passengers are seated under the protection of a light roof. The alignment of the train is made possible by lateral stabilizers. The water train's natural tendency to accordion and its propensity for excessive snaking motion are also countered by lateral stabilizers.
Le train aquatique est une embarcation nautique composée de plusieurs bateaux à large fond attachés les uns aux autres pour former un train autonome et libre sur un plan d'eau. Le bateau de tête tracte l'ensemble des wagons aquatiques. Cette locomotive aquatique déplace l'ensemble à l'aide d'un moteur àcombustion interne ou à l'aide d'un moteur électrique et/ou avec deux rames et/ou avec la force éolienne. Chaque unité wagon peut embarquer un ou plusieurs passagers qui retrouvent chacun un siège sous un toit léger. L'alignement de l'ensemble est rendu possible grâce aux stabilisateurs latéraux. La tendance naturelle à la mise en accordéon et le mouvement de lacet excessif du train aquatique sont aussi contrés par les stabilisateurs latéraux.
