A method of effecting intimate mixing and reaction of a metal in particulate form with a reactant gas to form a gaseous product, said method comprising passing a feed stream of said reactant gas through an elongate conduit into a reaction chamber at such a flow rate as to effect drawing of said particulate metal through said elongate conduit in intimate admixture with said gas from a particulate metal feed source adjacent said elongate conduit. The process provides improved efficiency in gaseous metal complex production.
