A foil and process are disclosed for automatically selecting adhesive graphics cut out of an adhesive foil and separated from a surrounding negative mask, and for transferring them onto a target surface. A new separating and transfer foil (1) with a differenciated structure is used which is lightly glued to programm-controlled cut-out adhesive graphics by means of adhesive lines (4) finely distributed overs it whole surface. Dome shaped, preferably glue pockets (5) profiled in space which correspond to the adhesive lines (4) are finely distributed over the whole surface of the foil and are partially coated with a disperible glue, so that these glue pockets of the separating and transfer foil are activated by a program-controlled mechanical pressure force, for example by a plotter pen (9), and are partially glued exactly in the area of the positive graphics cut-out of the adhesive foil. Once the separating foil is detached together with the positive graphics of the adhesive foil and its negative mask and are separated from each other without deformation and may be individually transferred onto any target surfaces.
