In accordance with one aspect of the invention there is provided a process for handling emergency calls from a caller in a voice over IP system. The process involves receiving a routing request message including a caller identifier and a callee identifier. The process also involves setting an emergency call flag active in response to the callee identifier matching an emergency call identifier pre-associated with the caller. The process further involves producing an emergency response center identifier in response to the emergency call identifier. The process also involves determining whether the caller identifier is associated with a pre-associated direct inward dialing (DID) identifier. The process further involves producing a direct inward dialing (DID) identifier for the caller by associating a temporary DID identifier with the caller identifier when the emergency call flag is active and it is determined that the caller has no pre-associated DID. The process also involves producing a routing message including the emergency response center identifier and the temporary DID identifier for receipt by a routing controller operable to cause a route to be established between the caller and the emergency response center.
Selon un aspect de l'invention, il est proposé un procédé pour gérer des appels d'urgence provenant d'un appelant dans un système de voix sur IP. Le procédé met en jeu la réception d'un message de requête de routage comprenant un identifiant d'appelant et un identifiant d'appelé. Le procédé met en jeu également l'activation d'un drapeau d'appel d'urgence en réponse au fait que l'identifiant d'appelé correspondant à un identifiant d'appel d'urgence préassocié à l'appelant. Le procédé met en outre en jeu la production d'un identifiant de centre de réponse d'urgence en réponse à l'identifiant d'appel d'urgence. Le procédé met également en jeu la détermination du fait de savoir si ou non l'identifiant d'appelant est associé à un identifiant de sélection directe à l'arrivée (DID) préassocié. Le procédé met en outre en jeu la production d'un identifiant de sélection directe à l'arrivée (DID) pour l'appelant par l'association d'un identifiant DID temporaire avec l'identifiant d'appelant lorsque le drapeau d'appel d'urgence est actif et il est déterminé que l'appelant n'a pas de DID préassocié. Le procédé met également en jeu la production d'un message de routage comprenant l'identifiant de centre de réponse d'urgence et l'identifiant DID temporaire pour la réception par un contrôleur de routage actionnable pour amener une route à être établie entre l'appelant et le centre de réponse d'urgence.
