A method for forming products such as simulated leather or like products with at least one expanded layer (2) from thermoplastic, thermosetting or elastomer materials, comprising the following stages: forming in a slush-moulding mould a first layer (1) of compact material representing the exposed layer of the finished product, on said first layer forming a second layer (2) of expandable material by further slush-moulding, completing with heat the consolidation of said layers by gelling and the expansion of said second layer, to the layered material formed in this manner there being coupled a support of rigid material (7), possibly filled with reinforcement fibres, characterised by comprising a stage involving the filling of every possible interspace (6, 3) between said rigid material support (7) and said expanded second layer (2).

L'invention concerne un procédé pour former des produits comme du similicuir ou des produits similaires avec au moins une couche expansée (2) à partir de matériaux thermoplastiques, thermodurcissables ou élastomères. Ce procédé consiste à former, dans un moule pour coulée en moules creux, une première couche (1) d'un matériau compact constituant la couche exposée du produit fini. Ensuite, le procédé consiste à former sur la première couche une deuxième couche (2) d'un matériau pouvant être expansé par coulée en moules creux, puis à chauffer ces couches pour les consolider, avant d'assurer leur gélification puis l'expansion de la deuxième couche. On obtient ainsi un support de matériau rigide (7) lié à ce matériau en couches, éventuellement rempli de fibres de renforcement. Ce procédé se caractérise en ce qu'il comprend une étape consistant à remplir tous les espaces interstitiels possibles (6, 3) entre ce support de matériau rigide (7) et la deuxième couche expansée (2).
