The invention relates to a method for cooling a continuously-moving metal strip (2), whereby the strip (2) is applied to a main cooling roller (10) such that said strip forms an arc, the inner curve of which defines a zone of contact with the external face of said roller, for removal of a part of the heat in the strip towards the interior of the roller, the strip (2) being held in contact with the main cooling roller (10) by means of a pressure roller (14), acting on the outer curve of the strip which is made from an elastically-deformable and thermocapacitive medium and the heat transmitted from the strip (2) to the pressure roller (14) is removed by secondary cooling means (16).
Pour refroidir une bande métallique (2) en défilement continu : - on applique la bande (2) sur un rouleau de refroidissement principal (10) de façon à ce que la bande forme un arc dont l'intrados délimite avec la face extérieure de ce rouleau une zone de contact adaptée pour évacuer vers l'intérieur du rouleau une partie de la chaleur de la bande, - on maintient la bande (2) en contact avec le rouleau de refroidissement principal (10) au moyen d'un rouleau (14) d'appui sur l'extrados de la bande, constitué d'une matière élastiquement déformable et thermo-capacitive, et - on évacue la chaleur transmise de la bande (2) au rouleau d'appui (14) par l'intermédiaire de moyens (16) de refroidissement secondaire.
