A system for optically analyzing a molten metal bath (4) wherein a high velocity argon gas stream (3) is passed from a lance (1) to the bath and is maintained coherent by a flame envelope (2) to provide a clear sight pathway through the argon gas stream for sighting the molten metal bath longitudinally through the argon gas stream from a remote or spaced sighting point (9) .

Système servant à effectuer l'analyse optique d'un bain de métal en fusion (4), ce qui consiste à faire circuler un flux de gaz d'argon (3) extrêmement rapide depuis une lance (1) jusqu'au bain et à maintenir la cohérence de ce flux au moyen d'une enveloppe de flamme (2), de manière à créer une trajectoire claire à travers ce flux d'argon gazeux afin de visualiser le bain de métal en fusion dans le sens de la longueur à travers ledit flux depuis un point de visualisation à distance ou éloigné (9).
