An apparatus for supplying an enteral or parenteral fluid to a patient is a cooperative assembly of a rotary peristaltic pump and a fluid delivery set. The peristaltic pump has (a) a housing and (b) a peristaltic rotor projecting from the housing on a rotatable drive shaft. The housing has first and second receptacles for retaining and supporting the fluid delivery set. The fluid delivery set has (a) a drip chamber, or sight chamber, (b) a plurality of lengths or segments of flexible tubing, and (c) fluid connection elements therefor. The fluid delivery set defines a fluid pathway from a supply container of the enteral or parenteral fluid to a connector element adapted to be connected to a device for introducing the fluid into the patient. Preferably the fluid delivery set has a tension responsive pinch valve to prevent bolus feeding in the event that the fluid delivery set becomes displaced from the pump housing.
Cette invention concerne un appareillage qui permet d'alimenter un patient en fluide par voie entérale ou parentérale et qui est constitué d'un ensemble coopérant comportant d'une part une pompe péristaltique et d'autre part un ensemble d'alimentation en fluide. La pompe péristaltique comporte (a) un habitacle et (b) un rotor péristaltique en saillie par rapport à l'habitacle et disposé sur un arbre menant rotatif. L'habitacle comporte un premier et un second récipient permettant de maintenir et de supporter l'ensemble d'alimentation en fluide. L'ensemble d'alimentation en fluide comporte (a) une chambre compte-gouttes, ou chambre à débit visible, (b) une pluralité de segments de tubes flexibles et (c) des raccords conçus pour assurer la communication fluidique entre lesdits tubes. Cet ensemble d'alimentation en fluide définit un chemin fluidique ayant pour origine un récipient d'alimentation en fluide entéral ou parentéral et aboutissant à un raccord de manière à permettre l'introduction de fluide dans le corps du patient. De préférence, l'ensemble d'alimentation en fluide comporte un robinet à manchon sensible à la tension qui permet d'éviter l'ingestion de bol alimentaire au cas où l'ensemble d'alimentation en fluide soit retiré de l'habitacle de la pompe.
