A method and apparatus for measuring an-tibody titers in a thin film sample in an automated system which does not require multiple dilutions. The system pro-vides a simple method for creating an in-situ dilution within a sample analysis chamber without the use of any precision fluid-handling components, and further, to use the same principles to provide a wide range of sample di-lutions within the chamber so as to obviate the need for additional dilution steps when dealing with samples possi-bly containing wide ranges of analyte concentrations.

L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil de mesure de titres d'anticorps dans un échantillon en film mince dans un système automatisé qui ne requiert pas plusieurs dilutions. Le système propose un procédé simple de formation d'une dilution in situ dans une chambre d'analyse d'échantillon sans recourir à des composants de manipulation précise de fluide et en outre, elle propose d'utiliser les mêmes principes pour établir une large plage de dilutions d'échantillons dans la chambre de manière à supprimer la nécessité d'étapes supplémentaires de dilution lorsque l'on traite des échantillons qui peuvent contenir de larges plages de concentrations d'analytes.
