- 19 - SEEDLING EXTRACTION METHOD AND APPARATUS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An apparatus and method for loosening a seedling or plantlet within the growing cavity of a container. The container is held stationary while a plurality of pins enter the growing cavities from the bottom of the container. The pins move within the cavity a distance sufficient to loosen the plantlet within the cavity but not sufficient to eject the plantlet from the cavity. An ejector is used to eject the loosened plantlet from the cavity.
