The present invention relates to the conversion of saturated paraffin hydrocarbons having 4 or more carbon atoms to olefins having fewer carbon atoms. In particular, the invention provides for contact of a mixture of 40 to 95 wt % paraffin hydrocarbons having 4 or more carbon atoms and 5 to 60 wt % olefins having 4 or more carbon atoms with solid zeolitic catalyst such as ZSM-5 at conditions effective to form propylene and the separation of light olefins from the reaction mixture.
L'invention porte sur la conversion d'hydrocarbures paraffiniques saturés, à 4 atomes de carbone ou plus, en oléfines contenant moins de ces atomes. L'invention porte notamment sur le contact d'un mélange à 40-95 % en poids de paraffines de 4 carbones ou plus, et à 5-60 % en poids d'oléfines de 4 carbones ou plus, avec un catalyseur zéolitique solide, comme le ZSM-5, dans des conditions aboutissant à la formation de propylène et à la séparation des oléfines légères du mélange réactionnel.
