The invention concerns a tyre with radial carcass reinforcement (42) comprising a crown reinforcement consisting of at least two working crown plies (441, 442) of inextensible reinforcing elements, crossed from one ply to the next forming with the circumferential direction angles ranging between 10° and 45°, itself capped with a running tread, said running tread being assembled by two beads via two sidewalls and the axially widest working crown layer being radially inside relative to the other working crown plies. The invention is characterized in that the tyre further comprises in at least each shoulder at least one layer (443) of reinforcing elements, mutually parallel and oriented substantially perpendicular relative to the reinforcing elements of the working ply radially adjacent the additional layer, the axially inner end of said additional layer being radially adjacent the edge of the radially outer working crown ply (442), and at least part of said additional layer being radially and/or axially adjacent the edge of the axially widest working crown ply (441).

L'invention concerne un pneumatique à armature de carcasse radiale (42) comprenant une armature de sommet formée d'au moins deux couches de sommet de travail (441, 442) d'éléments de renforcement inextensibles, croisés d'une nappe à l'autre en faisant avec la direction circonférentielle des angles compris entre 10~ et 45~, elle-même coiffée radialement d'une bande de roulement (45) ladite bande de roulement étant réunie à deux bourrelets par l'intermédiaire de deux flancs et la couche de sommet de travail axialement la plus large étant radialement intérieure aux autres couches de sommet de travail. Selon l'invention, le pneumatique comprend additionnellement dans chaque épaule au moins une couche (443) d'éléments de renforcement, parallèles entre eux dans la couche et orientés sensiblement perpendiculairement par rapport aux éléments de renforcement de la couche de travail radialement adjacente à ladite couche additionnelle, l'extrémité axialement intérieure de ladite couche additionnelle étant radialement adjacente au bord de la couche de sommet de travail radialement extérieure (442), et au moins une partie de ladite couche additionnelle étant radialement et/ou axialement adjacente au bord de la couche de sommet de travail axialement la plus large (441).
