The present invention is concerned with a kit for building a structure, said kit comprising a) a plurality of pre-cut structure elements, b) a plurality of identification indicia applied to said structure elements, elements with different dimensions bearing different identification indicia, and c) a plurality of positioning indicia applied to at least some of said structure elements, at predetermined locations, each positioning indicia being indicative of an element assembly location and comprising data indicative of an identification indicia of one of said structure elements to be assembled at said element assembly position. Thereby, a relatively inexperienced individual can build the structure by assembling structure elements from the kit following positioning and identification information provided by positioning and identification indicia. The invention further contemplates an auto- construction method for enabling a relatively inexperienced individual to assemble a structure, said method comprising: i) cutting structure elements to final dimensions; ii) applying identification indicia on each structure element; and iii) applying positioning indicia at a certain number of element assembly locations on certain structure elements, each positioning indicia indicating a mating element position and identification, whereby an individual can assemble the structure by assembling elements according to the position and identification provided by the positioning indicia and the identification indicia.
