In order to provide an assistance to service persons in a service industry of large screen television, projection televisions, household appliances and small engine repair for the lifting of equipment to be serviced from a floor height of 2 3/4 inches up to a service height of 40 inches as per design parameters. A lifting apparatus was developed and called "Multi-Vator" from which a trademark was subsequently applied for, and explained as follows: It is basically a service bench which allows the operator to stand 7 feet away from the lifting apparatus, both for safety and to monitor the loads being lifted. This service bench provides a very stable four corner lift to a large flat table which holds the load to be serviced; and, useful, especially for: top heavy loads like projection t.v. and fridges. The load when lifted enables transportation on casters, without incurring slippage of the load being transported. When the lift table is fully down loaded it locks to the floor, so the equipment to be serviced, can be moved on or off the lift table with stability. A 12 volt motor controlled for forward and reverse powered by a standard 12 volt battery, drives a series of sprockets and chains that provide a four corner lift action. The speed of lifting is fixed and takes fifteen seconds from floor level to maximum height. There are automatic stop switches for maximum up and maximum down. There are two safety chains at both sides of the lift table, they serve only to support the load in the event of a main drive failure. In order to achieve a very low to floor level lifting table, it was necessary to make full use of the height created by the transport casters and to fix the main drive shafts, bearings, sprockets and chains under the base of the apparatus. The product to be serviced can be accessed from any of four sides on the lift table. The lifting apparatus has the lift table designed to accept large screen television and appliances; however, for the larger projection t.v.'s a simple add on lift table extender is attached. The apparatus has an accessory box as part of design to store the table extender and other accessories.
